Alexis Phillips (she/her/hers) is a master’s prepared family nurse practitioner. She earned board certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board in 2018.
Alexis is a graduate of Portland High School. She earned an Associate in Applied Science degree, magna cum laude, from Lansing Community College in 2014. She graduated with honors from the University of Michigan- Flint in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree. Alexis attended Walden University graduating with a Master of Science in nursing degree in 2018.
Prior to family medicine, Alexis was a circulating nurse in surgery at Sparrow hospital. She also has experience caring for inpatients with a focus on cardiac conditions.
Alexis loves caring for individuals and family units in all their various forms. Developing a rapport with her patients is very important in her practice; her goal is for all her patients to feel safe and heard when she is caring for them. Alexis collaborates with patients while incorporating evidence-based medicine into treatment plans that are individualized.
In addition to family medicine, Alexis enjoys teaching nursing students. She teaches nurse practitioner students practicum while at the clinic. She also teaches clinical nursing at her alma mater, Lansing Community College. She has experience teaching clinical nursing at Michigan State University.
Alexis lives locally in Lansing. She enjoys gardening, volleyball, yoga, listening to podcasts, and playing with her dog.
