Jenna Oesterle is a doctorally prepared Family Nurse Practitioner. Her graduate degree was from University of Michigan – Flint’s Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner program which focused on translational research (integrating research practice with the office setting). Jenna has been a registered nurse in the Lansing area for 8 years working in both the Intensive Care and Cardiac Intensive Care units. Caring for patients in this setting inspired her to return for her doctorate, taking a preventative focus towards medicine and preventing the long term complications of untreated chronic disease. Her undergraduate studies were completed at Michigan State University majoring in Nursing, where she also completed a 3 month study abroad program in Mexico learning about healthcare practices for the impoverished. Her interests in medicine include women’s health, weight management, diabetes, cardiovascular health and chronic disease. She hopes to make a positive impact in promoting wellness for her patients. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her 2 young sons and her husband, traveling and exploring Michigan, cooking, and staying physically active. She is an avid Michigan State fan, and enjoys cheering her Spartans on during football and basketball season.
