Dr. Barbara Merrill is board-certified in Family Practice Medicine and has been practicing with CIMA since 2008.
Dr. Barbara Merrill grew up in California and graduated from Granada Hills High School. She was involved with the volleyball team as well as the track and field team at her high school. She then attended California Lutheran University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree and served as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant. She then went on to Graduate School at California State University; Northridge where she received her Master’s and also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Physiology department.
She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. She completed her internship at Lansing General Hospital and residency at Sparrow Hospital both in Family Medicine.
Dr. Merrill is board-certified in Family Medicine, and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians. She is certified in Family Medicine and cranial manipulation.
In the office, Dr. Merrill performs office surgeries, procedures and OMT.
She is interested in Family Medicine-all ages, pain management, pediatrics, women’s health, OMT, and sports medicine.
Her goal is to provide service to the community and to educate patients about good health and practices for all ages.
Dr. Merrill is married and has three children. She enjoys traveling, the Peace Corp, volunteering in the community, swimming, cycling, running, winter sports, sewing and reading.
